About Michael Ryan Pritchard

Mike founded the band “Sweet Children” at the Pinole High School with Sean Hughes and Armstrong. They started performing at 924 Gilman Street after drummer John Kiffmeyer joined the group. They soon changed their name to Green Day and the debut album “39 Smooth” was released during the 1989 Christmas holidays. Dirnt has written songs like Scumbag, Emenius Sleepus, Nobody Likes You, Governator and J.A.R. (Jason Andrew Relva). Other contributions include Best Thing in Town, Panic Song and The One I Want. His famous bass lines have been seen in “Stuart and the Ave”, “409 in Your Coffemaker”, “Makeout Party”, “Missing You”, “Longview”, “Dirty Rotten Bastards” and “Nightlife”. Fellow band member Armstrong describes him as the best punk rock bass player in history. He has accumulated most of his wealth from his association with Green Day in various roles as a musician. He is also a co-owner of Rudy’s Can’t Fail Café which is a diner in Emeryville and Oakland.

Born on May 4th 1972 in Berkeley California, he was adopted as an infant. Mike has a daughter named Estelle Desiree with his first wife Anastasia. He married his long-time girlfriend Sarah in 2004 and divorced that very year. In 2009, Brittney Cade became his wife in a private ceremony in Ojai, California. He has son Brixton Michael and daughter Ruby Ryan Mae with Brittney.
