Myron Leon who is popularly referred to as Mike Wallace was a famous US journalist, actor, game show host and a media persona. He was born in the year in 1918 in Brookline, Massachusetts to very simple Russian and Jewish parents. Wallace’s dad was an insurance broker and a grocer. He graduated in Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan. During his college days, he used to work as a reporter for the Michigan Daily newspaper.

Wallace’s younger son, Chris is also a journalist by profession. His elder son, Peter passed away at the age of 19 after meeting with a very un-fateful mountain climbing accident in Greece. Following this huge loss, Wallace suffered from depression for many years. Wallace kept his depression a secret until it got revealed in an interview. He also underwent triple bypass surgery and had a pacemaker installed. With years, his health started declining, but his spirits were always at its highest level.

He had a vibrant sixty flourishing years in his career. Mike interviewed a vast array of popular figures. Wallace was one of the original reporters for CBS' 60 Minutes which debuted in 1968. He completed his regular-full time work as a correspondent in 2006, but continued to appear occasionally until 2008.

Wallace died in 2012 at the age of 93 at his New Canaan, Connecticut residence. He had a net worth of $21 million owing to his immense contribution in the field of his profession. He was the proud owner of 21 Emmy Awards, three Peabodys, and had many more accolades to his credit.
