Kris Kristofferson is a widely followed country musician, and that is where his wealth comes from. He was born on June 22, 1936 in Brownsville, Texas. He graduated from the Pomona College with a Literature degree. In his music career, he is known to be the writer of most of the songs he performs. Kris is known for songs such as, Me and Bobby McGee, Sunday Morning Coming Down, For the Good Times, and Help Me Make it Through the Night. Most of them have become big successes. In 1985, he joined fellow country artists Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash. They formed the country music super group called “The Highwaymen”.

Kris was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2004. On November 10th 2010, he was honored as a BMI Icon at the 57th annual BMI Country Awards. Throughout his career, he has earned 48 BMI Country and Pop Awards. He has also worked in movies such as Blume in Love, Convoy, Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia, Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, and more.

He has been married three times, and has eight children. In 1960, he married his high school sweetheart Frances Beer. They had two children. The couple divorced in 1969. He then dated Janis Joplin, but she died. Then he dated Barbra Streisand. Kris had a fling with Joan Baez in 1970. In 1973, he married the singer Rita Coolidge and had a child with her. The couple divorced in 1980. Finally he married Lisa Meyers in 1983 and went on to have five kids.
