Julia O’Hara Stiles is an American actress who has been performing on stage and movies since 1993. Julia’s net worth has been estimated to be $12 million.
Julia is probably best known for her roles in 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) and The Business of Strangers (2001). Julia started off acting with a New York-based theater group and soon, she appeared on commercials. Her performance as the supporting character in the Bourne series and the Mona Lisa Smile has been widely appreciated by the audience and critics. She was praised for Save the Last Dance as well. In the fifth season of Dexter, Julia appeared as a guest, for which she was nominated for the Golden Globe and the Emmy Awards.
Julia was born on 28th March 1981 in New York City. Her mother, Judith Newcomb Stiles is a potter and her father John O’Hara is a business person. She has two siblings younger to her. Julia took up acting at the age of 11. She first performed for the LaMaMa Theatre Company of New York.
Technically, her first movie appearance was in the 1996 film “I Love You, I Love You Not” where she had a small non-speaking role. She made her debut as a leading actress in 1998 in the film Wicked. The film opened at the Sundance Film Festival – Julia was praised by the critics. In 2010, she earned a John Jay Award. She is not only an actress but also an activist. Julia has been associated with Habitat for Humanity and has also worked with the Amnesty International. She has a degree in English Literature from Columbia University.
