John Mellencamp was born on 7th October, 1951 in Seymour, Indiana. He attended the Vincennes University. John used to play in local bands at that time. He struggled briefly in the beginning, but was able to finally release a music album titled “American Fool”. It was a success and made him popular. This album was a breakthrough in his career and he even won the Grammy Award for the Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for his single “Hurts so Good” from this album.

John resides five miles away from Bloomington, Indiana, on the shores of Lake Monroe. He had a relationship with Meg Ryan but after dating for three years the couple broke up during the summer of 2015. He has been married and divorced three times before.
