Joel Edgerton is an Australian actor.

Joel Edgerton has been appeared in several films such as Erskineville Kings, King Arthur, Ned Kelly, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

He is known for playing the role of Will on The Secret Life of Us for which he was nominated for an AFI award.

He lent his voice to the title character of The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello in 2005. The same year, Edgerton appeared in the British comedy film, Kinky Boots.

Edgerton also appeared in the 2007 film Whisper and 2008's The Square, the latter of which he co-wrote. In 2009, he starred in the Sydney Theater Company's A Streetcar Named Desire. He landed a role in an MMA movie, Warrior.

He frequently works with director Kathryn Bigelow, appearing in her films The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty.

Edgerton played the role of Tom Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann's 2013 remake of The Great Gatsby.

Joel Edgerton was born on June 23, 1974 in Blacktown, New South Wales, Australia. He studied at University of Western Sydney, attended the Nepean Drama School.  Aside from being an actor, he has a black belt in Karate.
