Joe Satriani is an Italian-American guitarist with a net worth of $12 million. He has earned this wealth because of his many contributions as a musician, songwriter, producer and guitar instructor. This Grammy award nominated celebrity is among the most famous instrumental rock guitarists of all times.
He was born in New York. Joe took up playing guitar at the age of 14, after the death of Jimi Hendrix. It is said, that he was at his football coaching class when he heard the news of Jimi’s death and he announced at that moment itself to the coach that he is quitting football to take up the guitar as his profession. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Satriani started teaching guitar to Steve Vai, his most devoted and noted student. During this time, he was also pursuing his studies in music. In 1988, he was selected by Mick Jagger as one of the lead guitarists for his debut solo tour. For Deep Purple, he was also the lead guitarist. Satriani is currently the lead guitarist for the band Chickenfoot.
He started his professional life by playing in a band, based out of San Francisco, called the Squares. Satriani's most successful album till date which has earned a lot of wealth and critical appreciation has been ‘The Extremist’. He toured India for the first time in 2005 and played concerts in Kolkata, Mumbai, and Delhi. Satriani is considered to be proficient in playing guitar and has mastered many techniques. His genres are mainly jazz, blues, and heavy metal.
He has been nominated 15 times for the prestigious Grammy award and has sold more than 10 million music albums worldwide.
