About Joe Hachem
Joseph Hachem or Joe Hachem is an Australian professional poker player with a current estimated net worth of $16 Million. Joe’s wealth comes from his professional career of playing poker.
He is the first Australian to win the World Poker Series in 2005 – he made $7.5 Million from this. At the Bellagio Casino, Joe earned his World Poker Tour title and ended up making $2.2 Million. Hachem is one of the five players who managed to win both the World Poker Main Event and the World Poker Championship Tour. He is actually from Lebanon. He was born on 11th March 1966. At the age of six years in 1972, the family moved to Melbourne, Australia.
For 13 years he used to work as a chiropractor, but he had to give up the job as he developed a rare kind of blood disorder. In 1995, while he was considering what to do with his career, he started playing poker. In Pascoe Vale, Victoria he used to run a brokerage business. So it can be said that Joe’s stint with the game was an accident. It was only in 2000 that he began to take poker seriously, and started to take part in tournaments regularly. Joe has confessed that he had to learn to control his temperament at the games. Before setting his aim at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, Nevada he used to play regularly for five years at the Melbourne Tournament Circuit. Hachem believes that discipline and control makes him take crucial decisions to win.
Hachem married his teenage lover Jeanie in 1989. The couple have four children – Anthony, Justine, Daniel and James. Jeanie supported Hachem in taking up poker as his career. He now owns a mortgage company too.
