He is an American musician, harmony singer and lead guitarist in the country pop trio known as Rascal Flatts. Raised in Oklahoma, Rooney formed his first band in 1992, known as UncleThumbtak , with Gregory Fitzgibbon (Songwriter, Singer and Bass guitarist), Colin Frayser (Drums), Jason Winnie (Rhythm Guitarist), Joe Don (Lead Guitarist) and Erin Fitzgibbon (Songwriter, Singer and Acoustic guitarist). He later formed the popular band, Rascal Flatts, in the 1990s in Miami alongside two lifelong friends Boone Pickens and Fred Samuels. Besides electric guitar, he plays the bass and acoustic guitars, and mandolin. He is influenced by accomplished guitarists such as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Chet Atkins. He liked jamming with family member singers Justin Speer, Jeramy Essary and Tracy Conder. Born in September 1975 in Kansas, Rooney married former model Tiffany Fallon in April 2006. They have two children; a boy and a girl named Jagger Donovan Rooney and Raquel Blue respectively.
