Jimmy Smits has established himself as a successful actor in television and movies. With a net worth of $25 million, his career has proved bountiful to say the least.
Smits was born in Brooklyn, New York where he was raised as a devout Roman Catholic. He attended college at Brooklyn College before getting his Masters in Fine Arts degree at Cornel University in 1982. Within two years, he was playing bit parts in television shows such as Miami Vice.
Jimmy Smits big break came in 1986 when he was cast as attorney Victor Sifuentes on the smash hit L.A. Law. He would stay in the role through 1992. In 1994, he transitioned to the role of Detective Bobby Simone in the equally popular NYPD Blue television show.
After leaving NYPD Blue in 2004, Smits appeared in other hit shows such as West Wing and Outlaw. He was eventually seen in the popular show Sons of Anarchy. Smits also spent time playing the role of Senator Bail Organa in the three Star Wars prequels.
