Gerald Norman "Jerry" Springer, has an estimated net worth of $75 million. Springer was born in London's Highgate tube station, which at the time, was being used as a bomb shelter from the Germans. His parents were bank clerk Margot Kallmann and shoe shop owner Richard Springer.

After the war, they migrated to Kew Gardens in Queens, New York, where Jerry attended Forest Hills High School. He earned degree from Tulane University and Northwest University in 1965 and 1968, respectively, and started a career in politics. He became a campaign adviser to Robert Kennedy, and, after the latter's assassination, practiced law in Cincinnati, where he continued in politics and worked in broadcasting on the side as a political commentator, news anchor, and others. Jerry was elected Cincinnati city council in 1971.

Jerry is best known for hosting the tabloid talk show the Jerry Springer Show, which started in 1991 as a political talk show. It wasn't until 1994 that Jerry and his producer revamped the show into its current, more popular format. By 1998, it was beating out the Oprah Winfrey Show in many cities, reaching over 6.7 million viewers. This has put him in the American pop culture, with references and cameos in many places, from the Simpsons to Austin Powers.
