Jonathan Adam Saunders Baruchel also known as Jay Baruchel is a Canadian actor who is mostly known for his comedy movies. His net worth as of March 2012 stands at an impressive $16 Million.

He started off as an actor for television shows. He first appeared in My Hometown. For some years, Jay hosted a show called “Popular Mechanics for Kids”. He then went on to work with Cameron Crowe. He was soon offered the role of Steven Karp on Judd Apatow’s television series – Undeclared. Jay has also appeared in The Rules of Attraction by Roger Avary along with James Van Der Beek. His notable movies were “Million Dollar Baby” directed by Clint Eastwood, which also received an Oscar for Best Picture. Clint Eastwood while accepting the award mentioned Baruchel too.

Baruchel appeared in Nemesis Game and Fetching Cody. Later he appeared opposite Don Johnson in Just Legal. Some other movies where he has performed include – Knocked up, I’m Reed Fish, Just Buried and Ben Stiller’s Tropic Thunder along with Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. He was also a part of the 2008 movie “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist”.

His performance was also noticed in films such as The Trotsky, She’s out of My League, The Soccer’s Apprentice and he did a voice over for the lead character in the animated movie “How To Train Your Dragon”, which won it at the Oscars. Jay has played his part in the Canadian comedy show “The Drunk and on Drugs Happy Fun Time Hour”. With Evan Goldberg, he developed the screenplay for Goon. Baruchel will soon appear in the movie “Rebel Kind”, which is based on the life of the lead singer (John Armstrong) of a 1980’s punk band called The Modernettes.
