James Van Der Beek is an American television, film and stage actor, born in Cheshire, Connecticut with an estimated net worth of $10 million. Born James David Van Der Beek, Jr. made his feature film debut, playing a role as a bully in the 1995 film "Agnus" at the age of 17. However, James is most known for the lead role as Dawson Leary on the successful hit WB show, "Dawson's Creek."

He has also played numerous of other leading and supporting roles in films, such as "The Rules of Attraction", "I love you, I love you not", and "Varsity Blues" along with tons of others outstanding roles. He has also made several guest appearances on television shows such as 'Ugly Betty', 'How I met your mother', 'One Tree Hill', 'The Forgotten' and his most recent appearance in the medical series "Mercy". After winning an MTV award for "Best Breakout Performance" for his leading role in 'Varsity Blues,' People magazine selected James one of the "50 Most Beautiful People In The World".
