Isabelle had a long running modeling campaign with Lancome and has also acted in many movies. She was associated with Lancome for 14 years. She is known for her roles in movies such as “Death Becomes Her” and “Blue Velvet”. In Blue Velvet, she played the role of a tortured night club singer Dorothy Vallens. She did her own signing for this movie as well.
She made her film debut as a nun opposite her mother in the film “A Matter of Time” in 1976. She then worked in the film “Il Prato”. She worked with Martin Scorsese in 1980 for the movie “Il pap’occhio”. Her first American movie was “White Nights”. Isabelle also performed in movies such as Cousins, Immortal Beloved and Fearless. In 2003, she had a recurring role on the television series, “Alias” and in 2006, she appeared in many television documentaries. She played the role of Gabriella Valentino in Silent Life which released in 2012.
Rossellini wrote and co-directed a series of short films called “Green Porno” in 2008. Each film in Green Porno is for two minutes. She was announced as the President of the Jury for the 61st Berlin International Film Festival in 2011.
She has dual Italian and United States citizenship. Rossellini was married to Martin Scorsese from 1979 to 1982. After her marriage ended, she married Jon Wiedemann in 1983 and divorced him in 1986. Later, Isabelle went on to date David Lynch, Gregory Mosher and Gary Oldman (). She has a daughter and a son.
