Holland Virginia Taylor is an actress from the US who performs on the stage, and in television shows and films. She has a net worth of $18 million. Holland is best known for her role in “Bosom Buddies” as Ruth Dunbar, in “The Powers That Be” as Margaret Powers, in “The Practice” as Judge Roberta Kittleson, and in “Two and a Half Men” as Evelyn Harper.
Holland was born on 14th January 1943 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Holland’s mother was Virginia, a freelance painter, and her father, C. Tracy Taylor, was an attorney. Holland has two siblings. Taylor went to the Westtown School and later majored from the Bennington College in drama. She graduated and moved to New York hoping to become an actress.
Taylor started off acting on stage. Through the 1960s to 1980s, she appeared in several Broadway and off-Broadway productions. She performed in “Butley” by Simon Gray and “The Cocktail Hour” by AR Gurney. For her performance in The Cocktail Hour, Holland was nominated for a Drama Desk Award. She was critically acclaimed for her performance in “Breakfast with Les and Bess”.
She returned to television with “The Edge of Night” a soap opera as Denise Cavanaugh. In 1980, Taylor appeared as the demanding sexy boss of Tom Hanks in Bosom Buddies. To prove herself that she can manage both comedy and drama equally well, she acted in “The Powers That Be” with John Forsythe from 1992 to 1993. From 1995 to 1998, Holland starred in “The Naked Truth”. She then did “The Practice”, for which Holland won an Emmy.
