Gareth Emery born in the year 1980 in Southampton, England has a Welsh heritage. He is an English electronic dance music producer and DJ. Gareth’s net worth is $5 million as of March 2012.

He has earned all the recognition and fame and has been the highest-ranked British DJ in DJ Mag’s annual Top 100 poll. In 2010, Gareth was ranked at #7 in this poll conducted by the DJ Mag. This magazine is the British monthly journal dedicated for the electronic dance music and DJ enthusiasts. It was founded in 1991 and is translated into different languages – Portuguese, Polish, Ukrainian, Lithuanian, Chinese, Bulgarian, Spanish, French, German and Italian.

At the age of 26, Gareth moved from Southampton and started residing in Manchester. This is where he has his own studio and runs a nightclub. Gareth Emery has his own record label too in the name of Garuda.

However in the mid-nineties, Gareth was more interested in other genres. He played guitar in a punk-band and trained in piano and jazz. He has completed his degree in Politics from the University of Warwick. Gareth supports Southampton Football Club.

Emery has his own unique style which he describes as a combination of trance, house and progressive forms. He is often categorised as a trance DJ, a tag which he prefers to ignore as he believes in playing good music regardless of the genre.

In 2002, Emery’s debut release was white label remix of The Shrink's classic “Nervous Breakdown” aired on a live broadcast of the BBC Radio 1. Nervous Breakdown was chosen by Nutrition for an official release and later used on a number of compilations.
