About Dominic Haakon Myrtvedt Purcell
He was born in England, but the family moved to Australia (Sydney) when Dominic was just two years old. His parents are Norwegian and Irish. He went to the Blaxland East Public School, St Dominic's College, Penrith and McCarthy Catholic College. Dominic went on to join the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. That’s how he became interested in the stage and on-screen performances.
He started off with the television with “Home And Away” in 1991 where Dominic was seen as a policeman. There was a draught after this as he didn’t really receive any offer. So he tried many different things. The next break he got was in 1997 with “Raw FM” where he played the role of Granger Hutton. It was telecast over 13 episodes. There was no looking back from there. He kept receiving offers regularly. The first movie he did was in 2000 – “Mission: Impossible II”. Since then, Purcell has acted in more than 20 movies. However, Dominic is to this day, best known for his performance in “Prison Break” as Lincoln Burrows. This television drama on the Fox network became very popular. It ran for four seasons between 2005 and 2009.
Dominic Purcell got married to Rebecca Williamson, but the couple divorced. They have two daughters.
