Born on September 17, 1932, Yash Chopra (deceased) is an Indian film producer, script writer and film director with an estimated net worth of $50 million.

After working as an assistant director for some time, Yash Chopra had his directorial debut in 1959 with the project Dhool Ka Phool. After the incredible success of the drama Waqt in 1965, Yash and his brother B.R. Chopra were encouraged to make more films together.

Aside from being a director, Yash Chopra has also established his own company, the Yash Raj Studios and the  Yash Raj Films, the largest production company in India as of 2006. His success went on for the next decades. He produced and directed some box office and critically acclaimed film projects like Deewar, Trishul, Kabhie Kabhie, Chandni, Lamhe, Parampara, Dil To Pagal Hai, Darr, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and Veer-Zaara. In 2012, Chopra finally announced his intentions of retiring from directing films.

Considered as Indian Cinema's King of Romance, Yash Chopra has received multiple awards as a director and producer. These recognitions include 4 Filmfare Award for Best Director, 6 National Film Awards, and 11 Filmfare awards.

At age 80, Yash Chopra was declared dead due to dengue and multiple organ failure. He was survived by his wife Pamela, and children, Aditya and Uday.
