Francis Ford Coppola has won five Academy awards, and has been nominated for 14. He has been named one of the 10 greatest directors in movie history by several publications. He continued to amass success from the 1970's to the 1990's. He has also directed Gary Oldman in "Bram Stoker's Dracula" which was a blockbuster and has won three Academy Awards. The last movie he directed in the decade was "The Rainmaker," an adaptation of the John Grisham book by the same name. He took a ten-year break from directing, and returned behind the camera in 2007's Youth without Youth, a critically panned film which turned out to be a box office flop for the veteran director.
