Erick Morillo is a Colombian-American DJ, music producer and record label owner with an estimated net worth of $6 million. Born in New York, New York, he grew up in Cartagena, Colombia where he lived with his family and was accustomed to salsa and merengue music.

Morillo moved back to the U.S. when he was eleven and had been influenced by other genres such as reggae and hip hop. In the same year, he began DJing at the weddings of friends and family as well at area clubs.

While he worked as a DJ at a New Jersey club, Erick Morillo met the Latin reggae star El General whom he became friends with. They have collaborated and subsequently released a single called "Muevelo". The track was a mix of reggae, house and techno which achieved a Platinum status. However, he got his place on the map worldwide with his 1993 single "I Like to Move It".

Morillo has produced music under several pseudonyms such as Ministers De la Funk, The Dronez, RAW, Smooth Touch, RBM, Deep Soul, Club Ultimate and Li'l Mo Ying Yan with his Strictly Rhythm label. He produced his 1993 single under the pseudonym Reel 2 Real which has been featured in commercials, movies and ringtones.

Erick Morillo may still be working on releasing his own albums but he ultimately chose to shift his primary focus back to producing and DJing. His record label based in New Jersey, Subliminal Records, has produced the #1 Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play hit "Fun" by Da Mob which has won the Muzik magazine Remixer of the Year award in 1999. It has also brought attention to artists such as Eddie Thoneick, Carl Kennedy and DJ DLG.
