Irish-American dancer, choreographer, actor, musician and occasional television presenter, Michael Ryan Flatley has a net worth of $304 million. Once famous for providing the half-time entertainment during Eurovision and the Riverdance star is now a producer of shows as well as a record-breaking speed-tapper.
The Sunday Times Rich List estimated his shows earned more than £15m since he returned to the stage in 2009 after a three-year break because of illness. His brand, held through his Unicorn Entertainments, has fallen in value to £20m. Flatley’s American property is worth about £122m and he has homes in Barbados, Monaco and Co Cork.
Flatley is a native of the South Side of Chicago, born to Irish parents. He began dancing lessons at 12 and, in 1975, became the first non-European resident to win the All-Ireland World Championship for Irish dance. He is a trained amateur boxer as well as a proficient flute player, having twice won the All-Ireland Competition.
