Damien Hirst net worth stands at $300 million. He is an entrepreneur, an English artist and also an art collector. He is a member of the prominent group commonly referred to as the YBAs (Young British Artists), a group of artists who dominated the British art scene during the 1990s. He is reported to be the richest living artist in Britain.

His career was linked with another famous collector Charles Saatchi in the 1990s, but as a result of increased friction between them, their relationship came to an end. In Hirst’s artwork, death is the central theme. His fame grew following a series of artworks where dead animals are preserved in formaldehyde. These animals included a shark, a cow, and a sheep.

In September 2008, Hirst took an astonishing move for any living artist by simply selling a complete show, Beautiful Inside My Head Forever, at the Sothesby buy auction and overtaking his long-standing galleries. The auction outdid all predictions, raising $198 million, breaking the record for a one-artist auction as well as his earlier record.
