Actor, writer, producer, director and stand-up comedian Louis Székely, famously known as Louis CK, is one of the few wealthy guys that did it themselves with very little help from others in the media industry. His net worth is estimated to be around $25 million.

He was employed at a public access TV cable station in Boston and started working as an auto mechanic. CK first gave his stand-up dream a shot in 1984. His open-mike moment was a disaster. Extremely disappointed, CK kept to himself for the upcoming two years. Gradually gaining back his courage, he walked the comedy clubs and was offered some paid gigs. He ended up opening for Jerry Seinfeld and from then on, all doors began to open. He landed writing jobs for several late night and TV comedy shows and he got acting parts in films and sitcoms.

In 2002, he created and stars in his own HBO one-season-long sitcom, Lucky Louie. Since 2010, he writes, directs, edits and stars in FX's comedy-drama Louie which he created.

Born on September 12, 1967, in Washington, D.C., Louis spends his early childhood in Mexico City. In the past year, he released for digital downloads his self-produced stand-up show and made about $4.5 million in less than 2 days. His latest stand-up show, at a mere $45 per ticket, was sold-out.
