Jon Lovitz was a notable cast member of SNL (Saturday Night Live) from 1985 to 1990 which gave him a big push in furthering a comedic career. After SNL, he started doing a lot of TV and movie work, primarily by lending his voice to several cartoons and films, such as The Simpsons, The Critic, and The Brave Little Toaster.

Lovitz also appeared in several popular TV shows like Friends and starred in many of the famous Hollywood movies like High School High, Little Nicky, Mr. Destiny, League of Their Own and The Wedding Singer. In the last ten years, Lovitz stopped doing many movies, and only starred in a few Hollywood films such as Rat Race and The Producers, and appeared in few episodes of TV sitcoms like Two and a Half Men and Just Shoot Me!
