J.B. Smoove is the stage name of Jerry Brooks. He is an American writer, actor and a famous stand-up comedian. His net worth is $2.5 millions. He began his TV comedy career in the early 1990s with Russell Simmons's Def Comedy Jam.

J.B. was born in Plymouth, North Carolina and brought up in New York. He studied at Norfolk State University in Virginia. He shortened his name to J.B. and added Smoove to his last name when he started performing as a stand-up comedian.
