About Christopher Crosby Farley

Comedian-actor Chris Farley was born Christopher Crosby Farley on February 15, 1964 in Madison, WI with an Irish-American blood. He has an estimated net worth of $5 million before his death caused by accidental opiate/cocaine intoxication and coronary atherosclerosis in December 18, 1997.

Chris Farley was best known for his loud and energetic style of comedy. He started working as a stand-up comedian at the Ark Improv Theatre in Madison in during the weekends. Later on, he performed at Chicago’s Improv Olympic Theatre. In the late 1980s, he went at Chicago’s Second City Theatre to refine his act. He wanted to chase his dream of becoming like his idol John Belushi.

With his outrageous character, he made his way to New York City and landed in the office of Lorne Micheals, creator-producer of the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live. Along with Chris Rock, who became one of his best buddies in the industry, Farley became one of the two new casts of SNL during the 1990-1991season and lasted for five years in the show.

He also appeared in several movies such as Wayne's World (1992), Coneheads (1993), Billy Madison (1995) and finally Tommy Boy (1995) where he worked together with his comic partner and SNL cast member David Spade. In 1996, the duo did one more movie titled Blacksheep. Chris became one of the big comedy stars whose popularity continued to grow through the years.

Farley became even more famous when he made his lone movie Beverly Hills Ninja (1997) which featured Chris Rock. This silly martial arts farce became successful and has added fuel to his already growing fame. However, his weight had also ballooned to nearly 300 pounds that caused his health to deteriorate. He may have continued his comedy stints but his dependence on drugs and alcohol has interfered with his work. His last appearance was with Chevey Chase on SNL and this washis only SNL show as a host. His friends and colleagues urged him to seek treatment but he succumbed to death at the age of 33.
