William Henry Cosby Jr. came to this world in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the U.S.A. on July 12, 1937. He has been married to Camille Hanks since 1964. He now has five children named Ennis, Erika, Erinn, Ensa, and Evin.
Bill appeared on many famous variety programs including The Ed Sullivan Show (1948). He had his big break in 1965 when he became "Alexander Scott" in I Spy. Bill won lots of Emmys for his performance. Bill eventually had The Bill Cosby Show (1969), where he plays a teacher, although initially the show only lasted for two years. He created a Filmation cartoon based on many of his high school buddies including Mushmouth, Weird Harold, Dumb Donald on Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids (1972). The theme was humorous, but it focused on the more educational side of Cosby. He studied for many years while working in the 1960s and 1970s. Bill eventually received a doctorate in Education from the University of Massachusetts.
