Brenda Strong is an American actress who began her acting career with appearances on television series such as St. Elsewhere, MacGyver, and Cheers in 1985.
Then, she guested on Matlock, Murphy Brown, Herman's Head, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Blossom. She also had a brief role on Twin Peaks.
During the mid-90s, she did regular stints on 3rd Rock from the Sun and Party of Five. She also appeared on ER, Picket Fences, Silk Stalkings, and Dawson's Creek.
She also guest-starred on 7th Heaven, Gilmore Girls,and Everwood. While working with The WB, she did cameo appearances on Ally McBeal, Nip/Tuck, CSI, Malcolm in the Middle, and The Lyon’s Den.
Strong went on to appear in several films, including The Craft, Spaceballs, The Deep End of the Ocean, Red Dragon, Black Dog, Exposed, Starship Troopers, and Starship Troopers 2.
She landed the role of the deceased Mary Alice Young, who narrates the events of her friends' and neighbors' lives from beyond the grave on Desperate Housewives. She earned an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance in 2011 and 2012.
In 2012, Strong played Ann Ryland Ewing on the TNT original drama series Dallas.
Brenda Lee Strong was born on March 25, 1960 in Brightwood, Oregon, USA. She got a Bachelor of Music degree in musical theater at Arizona State University. Aside from being an actress, she was crowned Miss Arizona in 1980. She has a son from her previous marriage from Tom Henri.
