William Thomas Berry popularly known as Bill Berry is a retired musician and instrumentalist with a net worth of $40 million. Berry is best known for his drumming prowess with the rock band R.E.M. In addition, Berry was recognized for his talents as a multi-instrumentalist. He played other instruments including piano, bass guitar and guitar both for R.E.M records and contributing in songwriting during studio tracks. After a 17-year successful period with the band, Berry retired maintaining a low profile as a farmer.
Berry started off as a drummer when R.E.M was formed during the 80's. His contribution was impeccable as he would also perform as a guitarist or vocalist. His major contributions in songwriting were in the tracks "everybody hurts", "perfect circle", "took your name" and "driver 8". Berry retired and became a farmer working on some hay fields in Watkins Ville, Georgia. However, Berry has had some reunion spells with his former band the R.E.M including a 2003 Raleigh concert, 2005 performance at Dewitt Burton's wedding and 2007 induction into Rock's hall of fame among others.
