Banksy is a UK-based graffiti artist, film director, painter and political campaigner who has an estimated net worth of $50 million. He has earned a net worth owing to the recognition from his work depicting the political and the social reality through works featured on walls, streets and bridges all over the world. His street art combines dark comedy. The graffiti is done with a unique stencil technique.

He begun his career in 1990. During the initial days, he started using free hand work and stencils to complete the jobs. By the end of 2000, Banksy started relying completely on stencils as he realized that it took less time to complete the art.

He says that he started using the stencil technique one day as he was escaping from the eyes of police and was hiding under a garbage lorry. He soon started getting noticed because of his work in London and Bristol.

In 2002, Banksy had his first display of works in Los Angeles at the 33 1/3 Gallery. In 2003, at the exhibition named Turf War, he painted on animals. In 2008, Bansky send an invite to 39 artists to take part in the Cans Festival in which they would paint their work as long as it didn’t overlap each others.

He started gaining enough fame and thus his pieces were auctioned at high rates. He had a renowned client list who appreciated his paintings. For instance, Christina Aguilera had once purchased his work at £25,000. In spite of his getting fame for his works, Banksy still maintains a low profile and has never revealed his real life.
