With a net worth of $120 million, Anthony Kiedis is famous worldwide for being the lead singer and lyricist of the alternative rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Born on November 3, 1962, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Kiedis moved to Los Angeles at the age of 12 with his father who was a struggling actor and part-time marijuana dealer. He enrolled at Fairfax High School where he made friends with fellow students and future bandmates. After finishing high school, he took classes at the UCLA but dropped out at the beginning of his sophomore year.
Although he started his career as a child actor, he soon switched from movies to music and formed the band Red Hot Chili Peppers with bassist Michael "Flea" Balzary in 1980. Achieving a minor degree of success with the bands first albums, the band achieved commercial success with the hit album "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" in 1991.
Eight years later in 1999 when the band had great success with the album "Californication". Since then, Anthony and the band have achieved great success, releasing a string of hit albums and being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 in their year first year of eligibility. Having turned 50 in 2012, Anthony continues to tour the world with the Red Hot Chili Peppers today.
