Former television star Mary Tyler Moore has an estimated net worth of  $60 million. Born in Brooklyn on December 29, 1936, she first started off as a dancer in 1955 as an elf dancing on kitchen appliances for a Happy Hotpoint commercial. She kept performing in commercials up until apparently it became difficult to conceal the fact that she was pregnant while performing in her elf costume.

She would later land a role on the television show Richard Diamond, Private Detective.

She eventually landed a major role in The Dick Van Dyke Show. The show was revered for its creativity and it later earned her and members of the cast multiple Emmy awards. She then starred in movies that included Change of Habit and the 1969 Run a Crooked Mile before returning to television.

She began her hit 1970 show; Mary Tyler Moore, which would earn her several awards and would for years be part of CBS network's impressive Saturday Schedule. The show would later conclude in 1977 boasting a 7 year success.
