Before she successfully made it to Good Morning America, Lara Spencer has hosted a number of shows including The Dish segment for Rachel Ray, Antiques Roadshow, Antiques Roadshow FYI, and The Insider. She was hired as a lifestyle and feature reporter for WABC-TV and was a contributor to The Early Show on CBS.

In 2011, Lara Spencer created and produced the game show It's Worth What? which is hosted by Cedric the Entertainer. The show was aired on NBC in summer 2011. In 2012, the first book she wrote titled  I  Brake For Yard Sales was published. The book is a definitive guide to creating high-end rooms from second-hand stuff.
