Dimple Kapadia is an Indian film actress. Born Dimple Chunnibhai Kapadia on June 8, 1957, she began acting at the age of thirteen and played the title role in the teen romance Bobby, which released in 1973. In the same year, she married Indian actor Rajesh Khanna and retired from acting. She became the mother of Twinkle and Rinke Khanna, who are also actresses.

Kapadia and Rajesh ended their marriage in 1983, which she used as an opportunity to return to acting in 1984. She became part of the drama Saagar, which earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress.

Kapadia was a national sex symbol and in order to avoid being stereotyped, she expanded her acting roles. She went into more serious parts including the movies Kaash, Drishti, Lekin..., and Rudaali, for which she received a National Film Award for Best Actress and a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress. She then had supporting roles in the films Gardish and Krantiveer, which gave her a fourth Filmfare Award.

Dimple Kapadia had a supporting role in Dil Chahta Hai and had a notable portrayal of the title role in the American production of Leela. Other film credits included leading roles in Hum Kain Hai?, Pyaar Mein Twist, Phir Kabhi and Tum Milo Toh Sahi.  She also had supporting roles in Being Cyrus, Lucky by Chance, Dabangg, Patiala House and Cocktail.
