Sunil Shetty is an Indian actor, hotelier, producer and fashion and liquor boutique owner. He is known in the Bollywood film industry as an action hero. In 1992, he made his acting debut with the movie “Balwaan”, which had an average success at the box office. In 1994, his first major action-thriller was “Mohra”, which was followed by “Dilwale”, a romantic drama movie. “Gopi Kishan” was average too in terms of box office collection. Throughout the 1990s, Sunil has starred in many action movies, many of which has been very successful. “Bhai” for instance, released in 1997, was commercially successful, despite Shahrukh Khan’s movie “Dil to Pagal Hain” being released on the same day.

His role in the 1997 movie “Border” was critically acclaimed. From then on, Sunil has played roles in many patriotic movies like LOC Kargil, Refugee, and Qayamat. Sunil Shetty ventured into the comedy genre later in his acting career. The comedy movies he has acted in are Hera Pheri, Awara Pagal Dewana, De Dana Dan, and Fir Hera Pheri. Sunil Shetty has won several awards for his performances. He received the Best Actor in a Negative Role Award for “Dhadkan”. He also won the Best Actor Award for the film “Red Alert”. In 2009, he was nominated again for the Best Actor in a Negative Role Award for “Main Hoon Na”.

Sunil is married to Manna Shetty and have two children with her. His wife runs an NGO for the underprivileged kids. Sunil has a black belt in kick boxing.
