Actor, comedian Steve Carell has an estimated net worth of $45 million. With his stint on The Office ending, he now needs to prove himself as a movie star. To make the big bucks he'll have to have more hits like Date Night and fewer flops like Dinner for Schmucks which earned only $86 million on a budget of $70 million. Carell hasn't completely abandoned TV, though. He's developing a comedy series based on his brief experience as a mailman.
Carell earned approximately $175,000 per episode of the third season of The Office, twice his salary for the previous two seasons. Carell was allowed "flex time" during filming to work on theatrical films. Carell worked on Evan Almighty during a production hiatus during the second season of The Office.
A native of Concord, MA, and an alumni of Chicago's famed Second City comedy troupe, Carell gained early experience with stints at the Windy City's Goodman and Wisdom Bridge Theaters. Following his feature debut in the 1991 comedy Curly Sue, Carell made a name for himself in television as a writer/performer on The Dana Carvey Show.
