Stanley Tucci is an American character actor, writer, producer, and film director. He received a nomination from the Academy Awards as the Best Supporting Actor for his performance in The Lovely Bones last 2009. He won two Emmy Awards for his performance in Winchell and Monk. He received a nomination for a Grammy Award for the Children's Best Spoken Word Album which was The One and Only Shrek!.
Tucci received an Actors' Equity card after actress Colleen Dewhurst arranged for him and Campbell Scott to perform as soldiers in a Broadway play where she also stars. He debuted in the film, Prizzi's Honor last 1985.
He received three nominations for the Golden Globes and won twice for his supporting role as Adolf Eichmann in the movie Conspiracy (2001) and the title role in the film Winchell (1998). He also got a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for the movie, Winchell. He received a nomination as Best Actor in Broadway's Tony Award as Johnny in the revival of Frankie and Johnny by Terrence McNally in the film Clair de Lune.
On September 12, 2016, Tucci was featured in a video with other celebrities from the United Nations' refugee agency UNHCR. It is part of the UNHCR's campaign to expand asylum for the provision of additional shelter, education, and jobs.
