Sir Sean Connery is a late Scottish actor and the first actor to portray fictional British secret agent James Bond on film, starring in seven Bond films between 1962 and 1983. His estate is valued at $ 350 million. He is known as one of the best actors in the 20th century. Sean Connery was knighted by the Queen of England at Holyrood Palace in 2000.

Thomas Sean Connery was born in Fountainbridge, Edinburgh, Scotland, on August 25, 1930. Euphemia, his mother, was a laundress, and Joseph, his father, was a truck driver and factory worker. Connery dropped out of school at the age of 13 to work at a dairy and joined the Royal Navy at the age of 16; at the age of 19, he was discharged from the Navy four years early due to stomach ulcers. Sean returned home after his military service and worked a variety of jobs, including laying bricks, shoveling coal, and posing for aspiring artists at the Edinburgh Art School.

Connery worked backstage at the King's Theatre in late 1951 to supplement his income. Connery landed a small part as one of the Seabees chorus boys during a bodybuilding competition in London in 1953 when one of the competitors mentioned that auditions were being held for a production of South Pacific. He had been cast as Marine Cpl. Hamilton Steeves and was understudying two of the juvenile leads by the time the production arrived in Edinburgh, and his pay had been raised from £12 to £14–10s a week. Connery was promoted to the featured role of Lieutenant Buzz Adams, which Larry Hagman had played in the West End when the production returned the following year due to popular demand.

Before landing his first television role in a 1956 episode of Dixon of Dock Green, Connery appeared in several theatre productions. In 1957, he appeared in his first film, No Road Back, and later that year, he starred as Mountain McLintock in the BBC's Requiem For a Heavyweight. Sean quickly landed major roles in films such as Another Time, Another Place, and Darby O'Gill and the Littweilers.

He landed the role of British secret agent James Bond, which would become his most famous. Connery also played the suave spy in From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Forever, and Never Say Never Again, among other films in the James Bond franchise. He was paid $1.25 million for Diamonds Are Forever, $3 million for Never Say Never Again, and $16,000 for Dr. No. Sean reprised his role as James Bond for a few minutes in 2005 when he recorded voiceovers for the video game From Russia with Love. Regardless of the fact that many other actors have played the part, Connery's is the most famous. He also played the killer Zed in Zardoz (1974), an older Robin Hood in Robin and Marian (1976), and Harrison Ford's father in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Connery's acting career overlapped more than fifty years.

Sean Connery is well-known for not choosing one of the best and well-paying film roles ever. He famously declined the role of Gandalf in the first Lord of the Rings trilogy. The three films went on to gross $3 billion at the worldwide box office. Connery's promised 15% would have earned him an estimated $450 million payday.

Connery won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for his role in The Untouchables in 1988, and he went on to win two more Golden Globes: the Henrietta Award for World Film Favorite (1972) and the Cecil B. DeMille Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in (1996). Sean has won 38 awards for his work in the film industry, including Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Films, the American Film Institute, and the Independent Spirit Awards. He also had two BAFTA Awards (including the BAFTA Fellowship),

He married actress Diane Cilento in 1962, and the couple had a son named Jason before divorcing in 1971. Jason went on to become an actor and director. Since 1975, Connery had been married to painter Micheline Roquebrune.

Connery and his wife sold their home in Marbella, Spain, for €6.4 million in 1999. Following the sale, luxury apartments were built on the site, prompting a tax evasion investigation. Connery had properties in Greece and the Bahamas. Another property he owned was a French Riviera mansion that went recently for sale for the price of $33.9 million. He passed away on Oct. 31, 2020, at the age of 90. He is remembered all across the world as one of the best actors and his legacy will be remembered.
