Adkins is a self-confessed “film junkie” and dreamed of being an actor. His first break came with a role in the Hong Kong martial arts film called Dei Seung Chui Keung (2001) or Extreme Challenge. Since then, he has worked with the leading action directors in Hong Kong including Woo-ping Yuen, Corey Yuen, Sammo hung Kam-Bo and the legendary Jackie Chan.
Scott Adkins also had several acting roles and guest appearances like in BBC’s Doctors (2000) that was filmed at Birmingham’s Pebble Mill. He also appeared in a few episodes in BBC’s EastEnders (1985) and City Central (1998). He then had a lead role in a comedy drama Mile High (2003) in Sky One, which was also followed by a regular role on Holby City (1999) as Bradley Hume, the assistant General Manager of Holby General, in BBC.
Adkins had guest starring roles in films such as The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) and The Tournament (2009). He was Van Damme’s main adversary in The Shepherd: Border Patrol (2008) for Sony Pictures. He was also cast in a role of King Amphitryon in Hercules: The Legend Begins.
