About Robert Lawrence Leonard

He is best known for playing Dr. James Wilson on the television series House, M.D. and Neil Perry in the 1989 on movie “Dead Poets Society”. He frequently plays different parts in Broadway as well as in off-Broadway productions. He began his professional acting career onstage, replacing Matthew Broderick in the Broadway production of "Brighton Beach Memoirs".

He has over the years appeared in a number of notable Broadway productions. He launched a successful film and television career. The movies where he can be seen performing include "Dead Poets Society", "Mr. & Mrs. Bridge", "Swing Kids", "Much Ado about Nothing", "The Age of Innocence", and "A Painted House” among others. his performances have been widely appreciated too, and thus, he has been nominated a number of time. Robert has won one Tony award on 2001 for his role as A.E Housmam in Tom Stoppard’s “The invention of Love”. His career has spanned a number of classic films with some major stars such as Daniel Day-Lewis, Christian Bale, Paul Newman, and Denzel Washington.

Leonard's mother was a nurse and his father as a teacher. His sister and brother are an English teacher and a cop. All are back in New Jersey. He has two daughters – Eleanor and Claudia, with wife Gabriella. He graduated from the Columbia University.
