Robert Michael Iler was born on March 2, 1985 in New York. He began his acting career at a very young age. However, his first appearance was in a music video for the single Dope Hat (1995) by Marilyn Manson. He has also appeared in commercials for Pizza Hut by mid-1997.
His big break came when he was chosen as AJ Soprano, the youngest son of series lead Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) and his wife Carmela (Edie Falco) for the HBO drama The Sopranos. Her sister, Meadow, was played by Jamie-Lynn Sigler.
Robert Iler has had a few run-ins with the law. He was arrested in 2001 for the armed robbery of two Brazilian tourists, as well as possession of marijuana.
