Max Baer Jr. is an American actor, producer, director, and screenwriter who has an estimated net worth of $50 million. He is the son of boxing champ Max Baer who is of Jewish and Scots-Irish descent, and Mary Ellen Sullivan. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in philosophy from Santa Clara University. His first acting role was in Goldilocks and the Three Bears at the Blackpool Pavilion in England in 1949.

In 1960, Baer began acting professionally at Warner Bros. and has made appearances in television shows such as Maverick, Surfside 6, Hawaiian Eye, Cheyenne, The Roarings 20's, and 77 Sunset Strip. Two years later, he was cast as Jethro Bodine on The Beverly Hillbillies that made him a household name. This led to several appearances in films like Vacation Playhouse, Love, American Style, and in the Western movie A Time for Killing.

Max Baer Jr. shifted his focus to directing and producing. He went on to shoot some of the most financially successful films in Hollywood’s history. He also went to act in his movie Macon County Line (1974) which he also wrote and produced with his friend. The film held the record for the highest grossing film per dollar invested until the release of the Blair Witch Project in 1999. Today, he is primarily focused on casino development. He is currently building a Beverly Hillbillies-themed hotel and casino in Nevada. He used to be the 1960's Hollywood buddy of Elvis Presley.
