Matthew Gray Gubler is an American actor, director and a former fashion model. He is also a painter, photographer and an editor. Matthew is best known for his role as Dr. Spencer Reid in Criminal Minds which aired on CBS. Gubler has also directed four episodes of Criminal Minds. He appeared in the movie (500) Days of Summer. He played the role of Paul the best friend of Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s character’s best friend. Gubler has been the voice of Simone Seville from Alvin and the Chipmunks. Gubler has directed many films though they were screened only at limited screens in his home town Las Vegas and New York City.

Matthew was born in 9th March 1980 in Las Vegas. He graduated from the Las Vegas Academy of International Studies. He majored in acting form there. From New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts he majored in the art of film making, something which he was always interested in. Gubler also attended the University of California. During his NYU days, he used to be a model for brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Marc Jacobs, and American Eagle.

Gubler as director made his debut in 2004 with The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Then in 2006 he came with a brilliant and unique idea of mockumentaries where he used to mock the Hollywood culture – he used to call it, “Matthew Gray Gubler: The Unauthorized Documentary”.

Gubler directed, edited and co-produced the music video of the band called The Killers, Don’t Shoot Me Santa.
