He started his career as a model and did modelling in various print ads and appeared in over 150 commercials. Kevin’s first television appearance was through the television series “Murder, She Wrote”.
Kevin Sorbo, nicknamed as ‘Sorbs’, has spent about 3 years travelling and modelling around the world. During high school, he was excellent in baseball, basketball and football and during college in addition to these sports, he played hockey too. For his height and masculine figure, he was selected for the series “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys”, which went on to become very popular, and with this, Kevin’s popularity soared too. Later, he acted as “Captain Dylan Hunt” the lead role in Gene Roddenberry’s, “Andromeda”. During 2000-2005 it was the number one television series.
Kevin’s debut film was “Kull, the Conqueror” in 1997, which was followed by many lead roles and guest appearances in films and television series. His wealth comes from his acting skills, and of course the many modelling assignments. He has also learnt film making and has written some of the episodes for Hercules as well.
Since 1997, he is the spokesperson of “A World Fit for Kids”. It is a non-profit organization providing mentoring program to teens so that they don’t get into gang, dropout or drug. Sorbo was born to parents Ardis and Lynn Sorbo. Sorbo is married to the actress Sam Jenkins from whom he has three children – Braedon Cooper, Octavia Flynn and Shane Haaken.
