Karan Jahr is a Bollywood actor, costume designer, screenwriter, TV host, producer, and film director who currently heads the Dharma Productions company. His net worth is estimated to be around $200 million. He is also known for directing and producing many of Bollywood's highest-grossing films. He's the son of the late film producer, Yash Johar.

Johar began his career in the entertainment industry as an actor, playing Shrikant in the Doordarshan serial Indradhanush in 1989. He was inspired by commercial Indian cinema as a child. Johar began his career as an assistant director to his cousin Aditya Chopra's Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, which is considered a milestone in Hindi cinema. He then made his directorial debut with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, a romantic comedy-drama. The film was a box office success and received favorable reviews from critics. It was nominated for a National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Diverse Entertainment. Johar received his second Filmfare Award for Best Director in 2010 for the film My Name Is Khan. If I need to spell it out, I won't only because I live in a country where I could possibly be jailed for saying this". Through surrogacy, Johar became the father of twins (a boy and a girl) in February 2017.  Johar named his son Yash after his father and his daughter Roohi after his mother's maiden name Hiroo.

Johar’s 30 films have together earned more than Rs 1,700 crore (approximately $17 billion) in box office collections within India alone, with 20 of them making clear profits. KJo purchased a sea-facing flat for Rs 32 crore ($4.4 million) in 2010. It is an 8,000 sq feet duplex mansion at Carter Road, Mumbai. He also owns another house at Malabar Hills, Mumbai, which cost him around Rs 20 crore ($2.7 million). His company Dharma Productions, which was founded in 1979, has had investments of up to Rs 800 crore ($110 million). His estimated personal investments amount to Rs 480 crore ($66 million). He has luxury cars worth Rs 7.5-8 crore ($ 1 million). His car collection includes a BMW745, BMW760, and a Mercedes S class. He supposedly charges Rs 2 crore ($347 thousand) per brand endorsement.
