American actor Henry Thomas has an estimated net worth of $1.5 million. He is best recognized for his appearance in the 1982 film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, a Steven Spielberg film where he played the lead role of Elliott Taylor, alongside Drew Barrymore. The film was written by Melissa Mathison and was filmed with a budget of $10.5 million in 1981. Released in the United States on 11th June 1982 by Universal Pictures, the film was an immediate hit, becoming the highest-grossing film of all time and holding this record for 11 years with $79.2 million in sales to date at the international box office.

He'd been in just one film previously, Raggedy Man, and after E.T., he returned to his hometown, school, and normal life. He says he didn't make much money from the film but does get residual cheques to this day. In November 2019, he reprised the role of Elliott for an Xfinity and Sky UK commercial, in which E.T. himself returns to visit the adult Elliott and his family for the holidays.
