Eddie Redmayne is an English actor, singer and model best known for his role in the film adaptation of Les Miserables.

Eddie Redmayne started his career on stage in Twelfth Night at the Middle Temple Hall in 2002. He won the award for Outstanding Newcomer at the 50th Evening Standard Theatre Awards in 2004 for his performance in Edward Albee's The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?, and the award for Best Newcomer at the Critics' Circle Theatre Awards in 2005.

He reprised his role in Red at the John Golden Theatre on Broadway, and won the 2010 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Play. He portrayed King Richard II in Richard II, directed by Michael Grandage at Donmar Warehouse.

Redmayne won the 2010 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role and the 2010 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his performance in the West End and Broadway production of the drama play Red.

He also received the 2011 Critics' Circle Theatre Award for Best Shakespearean Performance for his portrayal of Richard II at London's Donmar Warehouse. In 2012, Redmayne co-starred as Marius Pontmercy in the musical film Les Miserables.

Redmayne modelled for Burberry in 2008, and was featured in Vanity Fair's September 2012 issue on its annual International Best Dressed List.

Edward John David Redmayne was born on January 6, 1982 in London, England. He attended Eton College and took up history of art at Trinity College, Cambridge.
