Carmine Dominick Giovinazzo was born on August 24, 1973 in Port Richmond, Staten Island, New York. He is an alumnus of Wagner College. From 2010 through 2013, he was married to Vanessa Marcil. In August 2012, divorce was filed due to irreconcilable differences. Their divorce was finalized in March 2013.

After moving to Los Angeles in 1997, Giovinazzo landed a Hollywood role on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This was followed by his appearance in numerous shows such as The Big Brass Ring, Black Hawk Down, For Love of the Game, and Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss.
