About Anton Viktorovich Yelchin

His parents are professional skaters. In fact, they had even qualified for the Winter Olympics of 1972. However due to reasons that are not quite clear, they were not allowed to participate. Yelchin confesses that he is not a good skater and doesn't do justice to his parent's profession. But he has certainly made a name in another niche. When Anton and his family moved to the US, they were given the status of refugees.

He was also once a part of a punk band The Hammerheads, which disbanded later. He is fond of playing guitar. In 2007, he went to attend a course on film study at the University of Southern California.

Yelchin's acting career started off early, since he was nine years old. He appeared in the independent movie “A Man is Mostly Water”. He has since then acted in many films and TV shows like Law and Order: Criminal Intent and also on the serial “Curb Your Enthusiasm”. He has received huge appreciation for his role in the movie “Hearts in Atlantis”. His other movie appearances include Middle of Nowhere, New York, I love you, You and I, The Smurfs, and Only Lovers Left Alive. In 2007, Anton performed in a crime thriller movie “Alpha Dog”, where he portrayed the role of a kidnapping victim. It was based on real life incidence. This role made the audience realize that he has matured as an actor from being a child actor star.
