Debuting in 1947, American actor Abe Vigoda has an estimated net worth of $7 million. Vigoda first gained popularity among the American audience through the play “Marat/Sade” in 1967. However, he had to wait till 1972 before obtaining his first role in a movie> The first movie Vigoda was able to land a role in was the American crime film “The Godfather” where he played the role of a mobster named Salvatore Tessio. Born in the borough of Brooklyn in New York City in the year 1921, Abe Vigoda was a son to a Jewish immigrant, Lena Vigoda, who was a tailor by profession. While he was a teenager, he began acting in American Theatre Wing before setting off his professional acting career in 1947. In 1982, he was mistakenly referred as dead by the weekly American magazine- “People”. Nevertheless, taking with a good humour and posed for a photograph to be published in another magazine- Variety, to indicate erroneous issue published by the magazine- People. Vigoda started his married life in 1968, when he married Beatrice Schy. The couple had a daughter before Beatrice died in 1992. Besides acting, Vigoda used to play handball in his youth.
